This morning, newly arrived Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Sanjay Verma, accompanied by the Convener of the Indian Business Forum (IBF), Mr. Mayur Kothari, and the Deputy Convener, IBF, Mr. Rajeev Sharma, along with leading Indian businessmen visited the International Organization for Migration (IOM) headquarters for a briefing on the facilitation of Ethiopian returnees from Saudi Arabia. Thereafter, the Ambassador and the Indian delegation visited the returnee transit camp at the airport.

At the transit camp, the Ambassador met the Hon’ble State Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Mitiku Kassa, and presented a cheque for half a million Birr collected by IBF as a gesture of support to the Government and people of Ethiopia to facilitate the returnees from Saudi Arabia.

On this occasion, the Ambassador conveyed the Indian community’s wish to be besides our Ethiopian friends in this hour of need.  The Ambassador also assured the Hon’ble Minister that the Indian community stood by the Ethiopian Government and people for any other assistance they may be required.
