Indians celebrate 62nd Republic Day of India

The Embassy of India celebrated the 62nd Republic day of India at the Embassy premises in Arada district in Addis Ababa on January 26th 2012.  Around 300 members of the Indian community gathered, as the national flag was unfurled by the Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Bhagwant Singh Bishnoi, in the presence of Mr. Madhusudhan Ganapathy, Secretary(West) and Mr. Gurjit Singh, Addl Secretary (E & SA).  The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by singing of the national anthem of India and some patriotic songs after which the Ambassador read out the message of the President of India delivered on the eve of the 62ndRepublic Day of India.

On the occasion of the 62ndRepublic Day of India, a flag-hoisting ceremony was also organized at the Honorary Consulate of India in Djibouti on January 26th 2012. The Ambassador of India is concurrently accredited as the Ambassador of India to Djibouti as well. Mr. Nalin Kothari, the Honorary Consul of India in Djibouti unfurled the national tricolour after which the national anthem was sung and the speech delivered by the President of India on the eve of the Republic Day was read out by the Honorary Consul. The ceremony was attended by the members of the Indian community based in Djibouti as well as friends of India.
