Bishoftu – Reception & Business Roundtable (12 Aug 2022)

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav / India@75 celebrations in Ethiopia, Embassy of India held a Reception and a Roundtable on Business Collaboration between India and Oromia Region in Bishoftu.

We were honored with the presence of Mayor of Dukem, Deputy Mayor of Gelan, Head of Oromia Investment & Industry Bureau, and Head of Oromia Police College. Local officials including police, labour bureau, etc attended the event.

Representatives of about 35 Indian factories in Gelan, Dukem, Bishoftu, Adama and Modjo attended the event. In addition, India Business Forum and Indian investors based in Addis Ababa were also invited to the Reception.

Mr. Ravi Shankar made a presentation on bilateral relations and economic opportunities between India and Ethiopia.

Ms. Senait Mebrie, Deputy Bureau Head and Head of Industry Section made a presentation on business and investment opportunities in Oromia Region.

Head of Oromia Police College (OPC) shared about OPC’s collaboration with India.

Mr. Sunil Verma from India Business Forum made a presentation on the Industry Sector – a perspective.
