India Business Forum (IBF) launched on 30 October 2005, under the patronage of the Embassy, was aimed at encouraging new Indian investments, forming a platform for dialogue with various Ethiopian authorities and for encouraging networking by Indian investors to benefit from each other experience.
IBF holds periodic meetings inviting dignitaries. These meetings have provided a new dimension to the bilateral co-operation and IBF has been a success in showcasing India participation in Ethiopia development process and furthering trade and economic ties between the two countries. IBF has signed MoU of cooperation with ERCA.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn graced the 9th anniversary celebration of IBF as Chief Guest on 29 October 2014.
On the sidelines of the visit of Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister to India, IBF attended the India Ethiopia Business Forum meeting in New Delhi (17 Feb 2021). IBF made a presentation on investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
Embassy and IBF organized a business interaction with State Minister for Foreign Affairs and State Minister for Trade and Industry (25 May 2021). About 110 Indian investors attended the event.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs received the executive committee of India Business Forum (18 March 2022). State Minister for Foreign Affairs listened to the issues raised by IBF delegation and assured them of early resolution.
Secretary (Economic Relations) addressed a gathering of India Business Community organized by the Indian Embassy in Addis Ababa (4 Oct 2022). Over 100 business persons attended the event.
Embassy and IBF organized a webinar on Ambassador Gurjit Singh’s book – The Harambee Factor: India-Africa Economic and Development Partnership (14 Oct 2022). State Minister for Industry and Commissioner, Ethiopian Investment Commission participated in the webinar.
