ICCR Scholarship Orientation Session

Last Updated on June 25, 2025

Today (24 June), the Embassy of India welcomed 65 Ethiopian students who have been awarded India-Africa Maitri Scholarship of Indian Council for Cultural Relations to pursue higher education (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD courses) in India.

The session began with an inspiring address by Ambassador Anil Rai, who warmly congratulated the students and encouraged them to make the most of this wonderful opportunity — academically, professionally, and culturally.

Students were then briefed on all the practical aspects of their upcoming academic journey to India. The scholars also learned about the rich cultural heritage of India, with tips on festivals, food, and travel that will help them embrace and appreciate the diversity they will encounter during their stay. We wish all the scholars great success, new friendships, and an unforgettable experience in India. May this journey inspire them to grow and contribute to the strong India–Ethiopia partnership
