International Day of Yoga 2022 celebrations in Ethiopia have started. Embassy of India in Addis Ababa has taken the lead to create awareness about yoga and its benefits.

Since the curtain raiser event on 24 May 2022, we have so far organized 107 yoga events.

Yoga sessions were held in more than 60 factories/farms in Addis Ababa, Gelan, Bishoftu, Adama, Hawassa, Holeta and Ginchi.

Large numbers of students from 20 schools in Addis Ababa, Adama, Zway, Adami Tillu, Hawassa, Ambo, Nekemte and Ginchi enthusiastically participated in the yoga sessions. We would like to thank management and teachers of these schools for joining us in celebrating IDY 2022 in Ethiopia.

So far, 7 universities have also commemorated IDY 2022. We are expecting more universities to join us in the celebrations. Yoga sessions were also held at Ethiopian Herald newspaper, Addis Zemen newspaper and Capital Newspaper.

We will continue with yoga events. IDY 2022 celebrations will end with a grand yoga session at the Embassy of India premises on 19 June 2022 (Sunday).
