International Day of Yoga celebrations in Ethiopia have started, and IDY was commemorated in Southern Ethiopia on 26-28 May 2022.
Yoga sessions were held at 5 schools – Mary Help School in Zway; Don Bosco School in Adami Tillu; Benevolence International School in Hawassa; Bonafide School in Hawassa and Debre Selam Kidis Sillassie School in Hawassa. Students enthusiastically participated in the yoga sessions.
4 yoga sessions were held at the Hawassa Industrial Park – Arvind Lifestyle Apparel, Best International, EPIC Apparel and Silver Spark / Raymond. Another yoga session was held at the office of Fly to World Consultancy Service.
Separately, a yoga session was held at Verdanta Harvests PLC in Gambella region. So far, this is the only Indian tea estate in Ethiopia.
Yoga session was held at Krishi Agro’s banana farm in Bishare locality near Abaya Lake. Yoga session will be held at Gallob Agro’s banana farm at Gamo Gofa locality near Chamo Lake.
Yoga session is being planned at Sathya Sai Farms in Wolkite town in southern Ethiopia. The farm exports strawberries and flowers. Another yoga session is being planned at Decha Agro PLC in Bonga. This is the only Indian owned coffee plantation in Ethiopia.
During the first week of June, yoga sessions are being planned in Adama and Modjo, Holeta and Ginchi and Debre Birhan and Sendafa. Simultaneously, yoga sessions will be held in Addis Ababa and various regions in Ethiopia.
We are also looking forward to yoga sessions to be held in various universities in Ethiopia.
