International Day of Celebrations (IDY) in Ethiopia (19 June 2022)

IDY 2022 celebrations in Ethiopia culminated with a grand yoga session at the Embassy of India premises in Addis Ababa (19 June 2022). This year, yoga events were held in 210 venues including:

24 schools – 4795 students in Hawassa, Adama, Ambo, Ginchi, Debre Birhan, Addis Ababa and Asella.

100 factories including Ethiopian factories/organizations (Horra, Warka, Ultimate Motors, Tegrow, Segon Marill Movers, Fountain Trading, Alta Consulting, Radiant Addis, etc).

35 universities including private universities (Harambee University, MSLG College).

9 agriculture farms – Gallob Agro near Chamo Lake in Arba Minch; Krishi Agro near Abaya Lake; Verdanta Harvests the only Indian tea estate in Gambella; Satya Sai farms in Wolkite, Ask Flowers in Debre Birhan; strawberry and horticulture farms in Holeta.

10 hotels and restaurants – Indian restaurants in Addis Ababa and Bishoftu; Sheraton; Skylight and Hyatt hotels in Addis Ababa

2 hospitals – Kadisco and Apex

3 newspapers – Capital Newspaper; Ethiopian Herald; Addis Zemen

1 television – Nahoo TV
