Nalanda University’s Admission Information for the Academic Year 2026-27

Nalanda University, an Institution of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament and functioning under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is pleased to share the commencement of admissions for Master’s Programmes (Academic Year 2026–2027) at the University.

Located in Bihar, India, Nalanda University is committed to promoting high-quality education and research with a strong emphasis on global perspectives, interdisciplinary learning and regional cooperation. The University is a residential international University; the university has excellent facilities for students (air-conditioned classrooms with modern facilities, a world-class library, well-equipped hostels, sports complexes, Gymnasium, etc.).

For the academic year 2026-27, the University is offering the following two-year post-graduate programs:

• MA in Buddhist Studies, Philosophy & Comparative Religions, Hindu Studies, Historical Studies, World Literature, International Relations and Peace Studies, Archaeology, Economics, Philosophy, Hindi;
• MA/MSc. in Mathematics;
• MSc in Ecology and Environment Studies;
• MBA in Sustainable Development and Management

Deadline for submission of application: 15th June 2026

Eligibility:

1. For Master’s program: 55% or 2.2/4.0 GPA or equivalent Grade Point Average(GPA) in Under Graduate Degree.
2. For MBA in SDM: minimum credit score/GPA at Undergraduate level to be 2.8/4.0 GPA or equivalent GPA or relevant GMAT score.
3. Students from any stream, i.e., Humanities/Sciences /Engineering/Management/Law, etc., can apply for any program of Nalanda University.
4. Language Proficiency: Certificate of any recognised English Language Proficiency OR completed a full-time degree-level course taught and assessed entirely in English
